Privacy/ Confidentiality

I shall treat all communication between you and I as confidential and privileged information, unless you wish to give consent for your own purposes before information can be disclosed.

I may discuss, in supervision, information received during therapy as part of the normal management of confidentiality.

I will establish procedures to ensure the ongoing management of your confidentiality in the event of my death.

Exceptions to Confidentiality:

I shall only make exceptions to confidentiality in order to reduce risk.

When and if there is a need to pass on confidential information (hospitals, Doctors, mental health professionals), I will provide only the minimum of information necessary and only then to those people to whom it is absolutely necessary.

Other exceptions to confidentiality occur when:

There is serious danger in the immediate or foreseeable future to you or others. Your competence to make a decision is seriously impaired; I am forced by legal requirements that demand confidential material be revealed
